Dorothy Arlene C (Stimely) Chandlee, age 93, of Lansdowne, Maryland, passed away on February 22, 2019 at her home after an illness. The daughter of late Jay and Ruth Stimely, she was born in Alabama on December 4th 1925. She graduated from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland Maryland in 1944 and began work at the Celanese. She retired from WR Grace located in Columbia in 1991 as a Chemical Lab Technician. Arlene was a Girl Scout leader for over 20 years in the Lansdowne Area and a member of Lansdowne United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble along with rooting for the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens.
Arlene is survived by her Sister, Sue Mencer, and Brother Donald and three Children, Richard of Prince Frederick, Linda (Peter Calomeris) of Ellicott City Maryland, Susan (Larry McElmoyl) of Crescent City Florida. Seven Grandchildren, John Coomes, Jeffrey Coomes, Scott (Bridget) Chandlee, Tom Chandlee Elizabeth (Matt) Sokoloff, Mary (Rob) Bailey, Andrea (Larry) Albrecht. Eight Great Grandchildren, Logan Coomes, Dylan Coomes, Levi Chandlee, Toby Chandlee, Benton Sokoloff, Cole Sokoloff, Tristan Sokoloff and Dorothy Alice Bailey, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her former husband Edward Chandlee, her sister Pat Kimmel and her sister Fleada Cox.
The family will receive visitors at the locally-owned Loudon Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3620 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD (21229) on Thursday 3 - 5pm and 7 - 9pm. Services and Interment will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 PM. Interment Loudon Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in her memory to a charity of your choice or Lansdowne United Methodist Church, 114 Laverne Ave, Baltimore Maryland 21227.
